Gambling Addiction Is Silent And Self Destructive

Gambling addiction is silent and self destructive until the compulsive gambler wakes up and realizes this is not how they want to live their lives. A change is in order. It’s now time to find a solution in order to stop their addiction.

Over the past year, I have met a lot of people who have been able to face their demons in order to stop their gambling addiction. They range in age from seventeen to seventy two and are from all walks of life. All of these compulsive gamblers expected that they would gamble for the rest of their life. They never really thought they could beat their addiction. The one thing in common was they all had a sincere desire to stop but were unable to. They all tried various programs but nothing seemed to work.

Some of these people tried Gamblers Anonymous. A majority quit this program, but felt they had gained knowledge and a better understanding of their gambling addiction. Gamblers Anonymous helped them to realize they were not alone and they could lead a productive life. Going to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting helped them to realize they were not alone. There they also met for the first time, other people who shared similar thoughts and similar self destructive patterns. This realization put them on their road to recovery. This was definitely a turning point but they still unfortunately quit the program in search of something else. Some people found help through religion and others found self help books and chat rooms. aduq

Beating ones gambling addiction as they emotionally moved forward was an educational process that helped them to finally be a winner. Once a compulsive gambler understands what they are going through, their recovery seems to really accelerate.

The goal of most compulsive gamblers is to stop gambling. The key is to find a program that works.

Gambling addiction is a silent and self destructive illness that sneaks up and takes over your life. As time goes by it takes away your heart and soul. Once you realize you have a problem, you can face this addiction head on.

I have enjoyed helping people to beat their addiction. All people are unique individuals. It’s important to find a stop gambling recovery program that they can relate to. Next they need to realize that they can lead a normal productive life once they stop. Compulsive gamblers have spent a significant amount of mental energy thinking about when they were going to gamble again, the next big win and how did I lose all that money. AS they recover they realize they wasted so much of their time with a negative end result. Once they stopped gambling they became productive individuals. They also became part of society again. All those self destructive behaviors were now behind them. Many of them look back and remember with amazement and shock. They could not believe what they had done to their lives. The key was to finding the right combination that helped them stop their addiction.

What Constitutes a Grinder Saw?

The efficiency of an angle grinder lies in the quality of grinder saw or the disc which helps in removing excess material or simply cut in to pieces. That is achieved by different kinds of discs such as abrasive grinding discs, cut-off discs (diamond blade), grinding stones, wire brush wheels, sanding discs and polishing pads. ใบเจียร

The strength of the grinder saw and the motor determines the choice of right grinder for specific use. Different functions with precision could be achieved by choosing grinding discs which have appropriate backing, coat, and abrasive material.

For paint removal and fiberglass grinding, an open coat with durable fiber backing saw is used. Closed coat saw are made of aluminum oxide and fiber-backed, typically used for fiberglass, wood, and metal sanding. Fiber Discs are alumina zirconium mineral-based. Sharp, strong, and versatile, offer supreme debarring, weld grinding and blending, and metal removal.Disc size increases with the corresponding increase in the power. Disc sizes could be one of the following; 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12 inches.

Geometric setting is done to the grinder parts so that instrument functions best. The circular grinder saw must be tensioned to properly operate because when the saw comes to speed, the rim stretches due to centrifugal force. If they are not properly inserted, the saw will not move perfectly. They may move like a sauce pan ride. A saw that is to be run at higher speed will have to have more tension than one operated at slower speed. Hence while hammering the saw, the RPM to which it is going to be used and the power of the grinder should be well informed.

As every machinery parts, the size of saw also reduces when they are used repeatedly. To avoid this, grinder parts include inserted tooth blades. An added advantage is that they allow easy repair as they eliminate the need to regrind the gullets and swage the teeth.Sharpening of these grinder saw can be done by many methods which ranges from filing by hand to using some specific gadgets for them. Based on the size and sharpness required, one can choose the method they want.

Some of the characteristics of the grinder saw are that the cuts are straight and relatively accurate. There could be some blurs left on the cutting surface by the saw. But mostly likely they have a good surface finish. Cutting is done by the teeth on the edge of the thin blade.

Artificial Grass: The Commercial Uses

A glance at the lush green golf course or the plush lawn of a resort always makes us wonder how the grass can be so fresh; sometimes, the question ‘is the grass real or not’ also lurks in our mind. The thought is not unjustified. Today, most businesses are opting for artificial grass. They are ready to pay big amounts initially for cutting down the future maintenance costs. When it comes to commercial use, you will get several options in the market to choose from. Here, we are discussing the most common commercial uses of synthetic grass.  artificial grass installation

Children’s Park and Playgrounds

The look of a children’s park or playground is extremely essential for attracting the kids; and nothing can be more appealing than a lush green field. This has compelled the local park authorities and daycare owners to look for artificial grass brands that are sturdy enough to be placed below the playground equipments and also comes with an alluring finish. Before going for any particular product they also make sure that it is safe for the kids. The artificial turfs that are designed for being used at the playgrounds possess up to two inches of rubber along with a shock absorbing layer on top of the subgrade and the layers of crushed stone. The specifications of these synthetic turfs follow the ASTM standards to minimize the risk of any serious injury.

Field Surfaces of Sports Complexes

The field surfaces of the sports complexes need to maintain their lushness throughout the year. Thus, in recent years a large share of sporting complexes has opted for artificial grass for cutting down both the time and cost of maintenance. The field surfaces of sport complexes are extremely vulnerable to wear and tear due to heavy traffic. The manufacturers create the products meant for these fields in a way that they can easily tackle the high traffic. Most makers include a shock absorbent pad under the artificial grass turfs. This reduces the possibility of getting injured even if a player falls on this artificial surface.

Pet Care Facilities

Many of us leave our beloved pet at a pet care centre while moving out of station for vacations or business meets. As a pet owner you will always want such centres to be well maintained. One of the common activities the pets take part in daily is walking and for that the pet care units must have lawns. It’s true that a surface having real grass is best for your dogs and cats; however, it will need high levels of maintenance. The attendants will have to spend hours to repair the burn marks caused by animal wastes and fill the areas that get worn out due to high traffic and digging. The artificial grass manufacturers have come with a solution to this problem. They are offering artificial turfs specially made to withstand every action of the pets. These turfs come with adequate drainage that allows them to remain dry and clean. As a pet owner, you can also use these artificial grass turfs in your backyard.

Your Prescription for Health: Provincial Drug Insurance Options

Canadians are privileged to have access to universal health care coverage – from annual physical check-ups to emergency medical services, and more. Provincial health plans include coverage for medications you require while you are hospitalized; however, prescription drugs needed outside of an inpatient care setting are not covered. cybershell

In order to assist Canadians with the cost of their prescription drugs, each province has a variety of drug insurance program options available to its residents. The program for which you qualify will depend on a few factors including your age, income level, employment status, and whether you are part of other private insurance plans. Here is a quick overview of each province’s drug insurance coverage.

British Columbia – Drug insurance in British Columbia (BC) is available through the BC Pharmacare programs. BC residents under the provincial health plan are eligible for the Fair Pharmacare program, which sets your coverage level depending on your income and establishes an appropriate per-person deductible based on that information. Under Pharmacare, there is a variety of other plans including one for people in Licensed Residential Care Facilities, for children living at home with disabilities requiring prescription care, and for victims of Cystic Fibrosis and HIV/AIDS. There are also plans for individuals receiving income assistance and for those with mental health issues.

Alberta – Residents of Alberta are eligible for the Alberta Health and Wellness Prescription Drug Program, which is available to all who are registered with the provincial health care plan. Low-income families can receive subsidized rates on their coverage. There are plans for people under 65 and for seniors, as well as for children of limited income families. Among the specialty programs are plans for those with rare diseases and for patients under palliative care.

Manitoba – Like BC, Manitoba drug insurance coverage is provided to all eligible residents, with the deductible being based on one’s income level. To qualify for Pharmacare, you need only be a Manitoba resident who is registered with the provincial health plan, and do not have existing drug coverage from other government programs.

Saskatchewan – Residents of this province have access to drug coverage through the Saskatchewan Drug Plan. All residents of Saskatchewan who are registered under the provincial health plan and do not receive other government assistance for prescriptions are eligible for the Saskatchewan drug insurance program. The program offers a range of options depending on your needs and income level. Programs are available for low income families, and a special program offering reduced costs is available for seniors.

Ontario – The Ontario drug insurance system offers several different coverage options. The Ontario Drug Program (ODP) provides prescription drug coverage to residents who are 65 years of age or older, living in a long term or special care home, or receiving home care or income assistance. For those residents who do not qualify for ODP, the province offers the Trillium Drug Program, which provides assistance to anyone who is registered with the provincial health plan and does not receive 100% prescription drug coverage under an existing group plan. This plan uses an income-based deductible.

Quebec – All residents of Quebec who do not receive drug coverage from other insurance providers are eligible for the Quebec drug insurance program, Regie de l’assurance maladie du Quebec (RAMQ). Premiums for the plan are determined based on income. In Quebec, you must register for either a private prescription drug plan, or for the public health plan by law.

New Brunswick – New Brunswick drug insurance is available through the New Brunswick Prescription Drug Plan, which provides coverage to eligible residents. There are ten separate plans in the program, offering coverage to seniors, people living with illnesses such as Cystic Fibrosis and HIV/AIDS, patients in care facilities, and children in specific circumstances including those with special needs.
Nova Scotia – Residents of Nova Scotia, who meet the eligibility requirements, can qualify for Pharmacare. The Nova Scotia drug insurance plan is available to individuals receiving income assistance, seniors covered by Medical Services Insurance, and low-income cancer p

What Is Lox and How Is It Different From salmon lox?

Plus, our best lox recipes.

Lox is so much more than a salty bagel topping. Here’s what you need to know:

What Is Lox and What Does It Taste Like?

Lox is a fillet (or strip) of brined salmon.

Brining—preserving food with salt—is similar to curing, but takes a lot less time.

Lox, which is commonly often served on bagels with cream cheese, was traditionally made from the belly of the fish. These days, other parts of the fish can be used.

Smooth, velvety, and buttery, salmon lox tastes a lot like other types of salmon. However, it is saltier because of the brining process.

Lox vs. Smoked Salmon

“Lox” and “smoked salmon” are often used interchangeably, but they’re not the same.

The difference between lox and smoked salmon is how they are prepared.

Lox is brined, but never cooked or smoked.

Smoked salmon, meanwhile, is cured or brined and then smoked. It can be cold-smoked (slowly exposed to smoke for a few days, but is never fully cooked) or hot-smoked (cooked all the way through, like smoked meat).

Because lox is never cooked, it remains smooth, silky, and translucent. Smoked salmon, through the smoking process, becomes slightly tougher. It looks and tastes more similar to baked or grilled salmon.

What Is Gravlax—and What Does It Have to Do With Lox?

Gravlax is the Scandanavian method of preparing lox. The salmon is coated with a spice blend of dill, juniper berry, salts, sugars, and liquors before it is brined.

Lox History

The word “lox” comes from the Yiddish word for salmon, “laks.”

Bringing salmon is a Scandanavian tradition, but it was also popular among Eastern European Jews.

Some of these people immigrated to the U.S. and brought their affinity for brined, cured, and smoked fish with them.

The Transcontinental Railroad is what really popularized lox in the U.S., though, according to The Mountain Kitchen.

Trains began to transport salted salmon from the Pacific coast to other parts of the country, including New York (which is where many Eastern European immigrants settled in the late 1800s).

While brined salmon has Scandanavian roots, bagels and lox is a uniquely American dish.

“[Bagels’] arrival was greeted with curiosity and no small amount of disdain. Seventy years after the bagel arrived, more or less, in North America, it had drifted in so many directions that the term ‘authentic’ had become suspect,” wrote Heather Smith in a 2012 Meatpaper article. “By the 1950s, ‘bagels and lox’ had become an insult—a disparaging term used by Jewish immigrants to describe their counterparts who had become too American. Bagels and lox had no analog in the old country. It was food as collage—pickled Italian flower buds and Scandinavian-style fish heaped over English-style cheese. It had traveled as far as the salmon, and become something entirely new in the journey.”

How to Store Lox

Lox will last 5-8 days if it’s kept tightly wrapped in the fridge. You can also freeze it for up to two months.

Elegant Smoked Salmon Canapés in 2020

On Oscar Night –  Serve Elegant Smoked Salmon Canapés

It’s awards season – and none is bigger than the Oscars.  Even people who ignore other awards shows will take a peek to see the stars in all their finery or to see how Chris Rock handles the #OscarsSoWhite fiasco during the show.  And there are the awards themselves.  All in all, a very festive evening.  At least for those lucky few with a Golden Ticket.

As for us?  Well, our dresses may not be couture, our jewelry probably hasn’t been lent to us by Harry Winston, and I doubt that Wolfgang Puck has created the party menu for our festivities.  So what?  It doesn’t mean we can’t get out the champagne flutes and enjoy the show from the comfort of our collective sofas, right?

It’s a festive night, and we can have our own little party right at home.  Invite a few movie-buff friends or your favorite Joan-Rivers-Esque, smack-talking gal-pal, pop the cork on some sparkling wine and start the revelry.

Make the occasion just a little more special, with these elegant smoked salmon caviar

canapes.  Far from the average chips and dip, these briny nibbles will wow your guests and they’re simpler to make than you might think.

And before you lay into me for the price of caviar – let me stop you right there — it’s domestic caviar and I spent about $7 for this two-ounce jar — you won’t need more than that.   A small spoonful of roe tucked into a dollop of creme fraiche makes these delicious little bites really special. And they’re good for more than just the Oscars.  I made a bunch for my grandparent’s 70th wedding anniversary last month and they were a hit!

Ingredients

6 baby dutch potatoes

1 tablespoon olive oil

sprinkle sea salt

sprinkle black pepper finely ground

3 ounces smoked salmon thinly sliced

1/2 cup creme fraiche

1.9 ounces domestic caviar such as Herrera

Sprigs dill for garnish, optional

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°. Using a sharp knife or mandoline, slice the potatoes lengthwise into 1/4″ slices. Drizzle potato slices with olive oil and toss to coat with your hands. Place potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and flip potatoes over. Return the baking sheet to the oven and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are golden and crisp. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Slice the smoked salmon into 1/2″ wide slices. Top each potato round with a slice of smoked salmon, folding it over on itself to create some height.

Dollop the salmon with a scant teaspoon of creme fraiche and about 1/4 teaspoon of caviar. Garnish with a sprig of dill. Arrange on a platter and serve with champagne or cocktails.

Smoked Salmon And Caviar On Crispy Potatoes

They look fancy, but they’re pretty simple to assemble and will definitely impress the company. Best when assembled just prior to serving.

Gambling And The 20th Century Rulers

New Zealand has one of the biggest gambling populations in the world.    Despite being a small country with only 4.4 million inhabitants, New Zealand’s residents spend billions of dollars on gambling every year. Playing land-based casino games is particularly popular, but online gambling has increased in popularity over the years.

Currently, New Zealand’s gambling laws prohibit online gambling. Unlike many countries, the laws do not punish players for taking part in internet gambling activities; instead, online casino and online poker operators who provide their services to New Zealand residents are prosecuted for doing so. The advertisement of online casinos and online gambling brands is also prohibited in New Zealand. Fortunately, since the legislation has been passed, no operators have been reprimanded.

There are only two operators that are allowed to offer ufabet  their services to New Zealand residents: TabCorp and the New Zealand Lottery Commission. TabCorp is one of the biggest land-based gambling operators in the country and has had a monopoly on the internet gaming market for years. The company’s online gambling website has earned billions of dollars over the course of the past five years and shows no signs of slowing down. In 2011, TabCorp’s online services brought in over $700 million in revenue. Following an incredibly successful foray into the online gaming world, the operator now has its eyes on the mobile gambling market.

The New Zealand Lottery Commission has just launched its own online gambling service, allowing customers to purchase their lottery tickets online. Players register to the site as they would at any other online casino, and they can fund their accounts using the credit cards or bank accounts. There is a $150/week or $300/month spending limit at the NZLC’s website, and players can choose lower limits if they wish. The New Zealand Lottery Commission also offers online bingo and keno.

Although there are strict rules dictating which companies may and may not offer online casino

In New Zealand, gambling is considered an economically-significant industry. Residents spend over $1 billion on gambling activities each year, marking its popularity in the country. The demographics reached by gambling operators in New Zealand are wide-ranging, as both men and women and individuals belonging to varying age groups take part in gambling activities.

According to studies carried out by Statistics New Zealand, over 90% of residents over the age of 18 participated in gambling activities at least once in their lives. Over 80% admit to gambling at least once a year. 85% of New Zealanders play the local lottery on a regular basis while 77% choose to take part in other forms of raffles. Additionally, instant lottery games and electronic gaming machines are played by over half of New Zealand residents.

Gambling preferences seem to vary among age groups. Residents aged 25-34 are the most likely to take part in gambling activities while younger New Zealanders, aged 18-24, are less likely to gamble. Of the younger population, those that do gamble mostly take part in Instant Kiwi games and informal monetary wagers with friends. Residents aged 25-34 are most likely to play poker machines and casino games. Middle-aged and senior residents are the most likely to play the lottery.

Additionally, gambling behaviour differs between genders. Gambling was previously an activity dominated by males, but recent years have seen more and more women getting involved. In a study conducted in 1991, 699 100 men gambled, compared to about 349 500 women. In recent years, however, things have evened out with about half a million men and women both taking part in land-based gambling games and online casino activities.

More women than men play the lottery, bingo and Instant Kiwi games. 80% of women compared to 70% of men play the lottery, 23% of women compared to 15% of men play bingo and 53% of women compared to 43% of men play Instant Kiwi games. However, men outnumber women when it comes to sports betting as 12% of males compared to 5% of women wager on sports. An equal portion of men and women take part in poker machines (18% each) and casino games (15% each).

Rates of problem gambling also vary among demographics. 34% of women are suspected to be problem gamblers, compared to 46% of men. Also, residents over the age of 40 are considered to be the most likely to develop unhealthy gambling habits, as 43% of players aged 40-49 are potential problem gamblers. it seems that New Zealand’s government may be looking into the option of regulating offshore gambling websites. After witnessing the huge growth of offshore gambling websites and success that other countries have had in regulating the market, the government seems ready to follow suit. Earlier this year, the Inquiry into Interactive and Online Gambling was launched. The review may lead to an online gambling reform, which would see the legalization and regulation of offshore gambling in New Zealand and Australia.
